Salvatore Bocchetti is a former Italian professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He was born on November 30, 1986, in Naples, Italy.

Bocchetti started his youth career with A.S.D. Torvaldolcese and later moved to Genoa CFC's youth system, where he progressed to the first team. He played for Genoa from 2006 to 2010, making 49 appearances and scoring 3 goals.

In January 2010, Bocchetti moved to Russian Premier League side FC Rubin Kazan for a fee of €10.5 million. He spent four-and-a-half years with Rubin Kazan, playing 100 games and scoring 6 goals.

Bocchetti has also played for a number of other clubs during his career, including Spartak Moscow, AC Milan, and Hellas Verona. He retired in 2020 after a short spell with Virtus Entella in the Italian Serie B.

Bocchetti has also represented the Italian national team at various international tournaments, including the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup. He made a total of 7 appearances for Italy between 2010 and 2013.
